“Reaching a goal sucks - it takes a lot of hard work. But not achieving the goal sucks more. So choose your suck.” - Doug Bopst
It’s called “the grind” for a reason. Whether you’re grinding to build your business, grinding at the gym, or grinding at anything, reaching a goal is always a grind (and if it’s not, it’s not a worthy goal).
Is it fun to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to mentor my new team members because of the time difference? Is it fun to sacrifice social events and leave get togethers early in order to talk to new people eager to transform their lives? Is it fun to skip all-you-can-eat hot pot in order to go to the gym?
But which is worse?
Not achieving a life where I can live on my own terms because I chose to sleep in? Not fulfilling my life passion of helping others create a healthy lifestyle because I wanted to have that extra brew? Not being satisfied with the body in front of the mirror because I gorged on way more food than I needed?
Both paths suck. One requires a shit load of hard work and sacrifice, but promises an incredible pay off in the end. The other requires no work or sacrifice at all, but leads to absolutely nowhere.
It all boils down to a choice, and I’ve chosen my path. Have you?
