Bringing these vibes to 2020!
An honor to be part of this homage to our Mestra Suelly, the first American woman to earn the title of Mestra of Capoeira. One of the first students of Mestre Acordeon and one of the first students of capoeira in the United States. True pioneer and trailblazer of this amazing Art.
Suelele was the first ever seen Maculele choreography of its kind. Concieved in the early 90’s in the Bay Area (Berkeley) Mestra Suelly’s choreography inspired many future female capoeiristas to take up Maculele (a machete dance/ defensive art then not typically practiced by women). 💖Here we go! Strong lady vibes 2020 🔥💪 ✨💖🥰 1st re-vamp iteration choreo by CM Marreta and P. Dorada December 2019
With my sisters: Makayla ‘Madura’ Garcia, Aryn ‘Brasa’ Faur, Laura ‘Papagaio’(MC), Vivian ‘Dragao’, Rachel ‘Moana’ Wolf, Ana ‘Argulia de Luz’ Hortillosa, Hinata, Dana ‘Dedinho’ Jackson, Dana ‘Murisoca’ Hisssen, CM Fougeira, -- danced by generations spanning 40+ years of UCA Berkeley women capoeirista from the first to the future generation! 💗💖
