Getting tired of vegan food or hate vegetables? How has being vegan changed the way you eat or cook?
Processed foods and animal produce dull your palate as they are packed with sugar, salt and artificial flavours.
My family used to say my vegan meals needed salt (sometimes even before tasting it) and I'm sure some of you know people who add salt to everything. It's because (aside from fish) chicken and meat is often seasoned or marinated with seasonings and our palettes have been trained to the intense flavours of salt, sugar and artificial flavours so it's difficult to taste subtle, natural flavours of plant based food. It often takes a while for our palates to open up to the natural flavours.
Exploring and cooking vegan food is exciting if you are adventurous. I have more fun with food than I ever have before. Previously I was work-rich and time-poor, obsessed with getting sufficient protein so I limited myself to the same food when I was non-vegan. I now have to avoid processed food and eat as raw as possible to get sufficient muscle gains, but I love the health benefits of being plantbased anyway. - 41 minutes ago
