I remember a conversation I had with one of my most favorite students, and we discussed how one can feel detached. Sometimes our perspective is that of an outsider looking at something, but being part of it simultaneously. We are all safe indoors, but as an educator, I am feeling detached a bit. Imagine a gardner posting about sunlight, water and shade online but actually not being able to tend to the flowers blooming and be with them. How would that feel, to be so far away from what your purpose in life is? I am sad at times, but this is necessary to be safe and keep others safe. I have utmost faith in my garden of flowers, because I know I have done my best since I have gotten the opportunity. Rest assured, my flowers aka my kids are still going to bloom and turn into something so beautiful that I would probably tear up when I see them again. Tis not a feeling of helplessness, but my faith and hope in them. Whatever you are going through, keep on going through that because we all do whatever we can for people/ideals we love and hold dear. A bit sentimental now, honestly so I bid you a good night's sleep. Till later inshAllah.
