Finally got some time and motivation to workout! Did a push day and felt really week, I haven’t been eating enough or working out since we got our beautiful angel. She is the sweetest and cutest dog, but she does have some behavioral issues, which we did not anticipate. I thought our biggest issue would be getting her potty trained, but turns out she is pretty shy and anxious. But we are working through it with a lot of love and patience, and lots of help from friends. She is a very active dog and very smart who refuses to go on walks so right now it’s baby steps, and trying to remember that if I’m healthy and take care of myself both physically and mentally I can be better for her. So thankful for my friends and husband right now 💕 how is everyone else holding up? These are weird times! I hope you and your families are doing well! .

I started my journey in July of 2019. But truthfully, I had started and stopped many times before this. ⠀
⠀
What made this time around so much different was not going through this journey alone. ⠀
⠀
Yes, I had to put in the work. I had to workout when I didn’t want to and I had to spend time making a nutritious meal instead of going to get my usual large #9 at McDonald’s. I had to show up even when my motivation didn’t. ⠀
⠀
But what made those times so much easier was being a part of a community of women going through the same things I was. A group of people there to pick you up when you’re down and hold you accountable.⠀
⠀
And that is what my bootcamp is all about. Working your ass off to reach your goals, but having a support system to cheer you on as you go through your journey. ⠀

When others believe in you, it makes it a little easier to believe in yourself! I believe in you girl, it’s time you believe in you too!✨⠀

1) 2 frozen bananas⠀
2) 2 tbsp rolled oats⠀
3) 1 tbsp chia seeds⠀
4) 1 tbsp peanut butter⠀
5) 1 date⠀
6) 1 to 2 tsp instant coffee (or 1 espresso shot)⠀
7) 1 tsp raw cacao powder⠀
8) pinch of sea salt⠀
9) 300ml almond milk⠀
Method :-⠀
1) Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on high until smooth and creamy. ⠀
2) Pour in a jar, if desired top with peanut butter, chocolate chips, nuts and puffed grains. Enjoyyyy!⠀

This thinking follows the teachings of Viktor Frankl, a holocaust survivor, who once said: “Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”
I think this a lovely perspective to have, as it takes power away from the external situation 
And gives it back to us through our internal reaction.

This gives us the chance to look at the “bad” events, and see the opportunity within them.

And ultimately, this is gonna lead to better, happier days!

CAN YOU RECOGNISE IF HUNGER IS PHYSICAL OR EMOTIONAL?

When we are disconnected from your body signals, we might feel hungry sometimes but we eat many times for what is called emotional hunger. This is hunger triggered by thought and not by a physical need.

Differentiating these two is crucial to becoming an intuitive eater. You need to be able to understand your body correctly so you can assure you are doing it right.

Emotional hunger comes in sudden explosions as opposed to increasing gradually like physical hunger.

Physical hunger increases slowly as time passes, it starts feeling like a warm feeling of emptiness in the stomach.
Emotional hunger is not felt in the stomach, it is more a sensation in the palette that makes you salivate and comes all of a sudden.

Emotional hunger is triggered by cravings or emotions which we normally suppress with food. To stop this is important to let go of restriction and work on the emotions underlying that are causing us to eat when it's not needed.

Somedays it felt like progress was so slow that it wasn’t even worth it. Like nothing was ever going to change... like I was never going to change. Happy Saturday!! Another shout out to that girl in the before picture who looked in the mirror, said "what do I have to lose" and gave it everything she had.

Also...how did I never realize that my waist is now 10" smaller than my thigh used to be...and I weighed an additional 45lbs on top of that before picture at one point 😱 .
You're capable of more than you know..just take that first step..take that chance on yourself. What do you have to lose by trying? What do you have to gain? I believe in you!
