“I’M BORED, I’M GONNA HAVE A SNACK”

Do you struggle with eating when you’re simply bored? I do!
•
I know it can be hard being stuck at home a majority of the time from this quarantine, and I’m sure the easiest way to curb your boredom is by snacking. So here’s some tips to help you avoid boredom eating!
•
1⃣ Track your macros. If you have a set number of protein, carbs, and fats to hit, simply don’t let yourself eat more! It sounds restrictive, but if you’re eating properly calculated macros, I’m sure you can eat plenty. So that extra snacking and binging isn’t necessary.
2⃣ Prelog your food at the beginning of the day and fit in any snacks or treats you want! The beauty of tracking macros is NOTHING is off limits. If you want to eat some Oreos after dinner, by all means do it! Fit them in and prelog them so you don’t get tempted to eat from boredom and finish off the entire package.
3⃣ Find things to do! Set a schedule for yourself. Workout. Clean the house. Work on your side hustle. Read a book. Listen to a podcast. Learn how to cook and meal prep. Now’s the time to do those relaxing or productive activities you don’t usually have time for!
4⃣ Don’t give up when you mess up. Maybe you’re doing great, haven’t eaten an entire bag of chips out of boredom for days. But then it hits, and you do. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Don’t throw in the towel and eat frozen pizza for your next meal instead of cooking a nourishing meal because you’ve already screwed up the day. MOVE ON and just make your next choice better. Giving up is the absolute only way you can fail.

When structuring your meals -ask yourself this:⁣⁣⁣
▪️Will the food will energize you?⁣⁣⁣
▪️Make you feel good?⁣⁣⁣
▪️Make you full but not uncomfortable?⁣⁣⁣
▪️Did you got enough protein, carbs & fats in?⁣⁣⁣
▪️Did you get your fiber in?⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
^ those are the important things to focus on. Not restricting foods. Not eating a tiny amount. Not 100 calorie packs or meal replacement shakes.⁣⁣⁣

Savory Waffles + 🥑+🍳 by @shredhappens -
1. Preheat your waffle iron.

2. In a bowl, mix 1/4 cup almond flour, 1/4 to 1/3 cup shredded cheese (I used gouda), 2-3 tablespoons chopped scallions/green onions, 1-2 tablespoons finely chopped baby kale and 1-2 tablespoons of your favorite herbs. I used @josiesorganics baby kale + cilantro, and 1 egg. I used @peteandgerrys organic eggs.

3. Mix everything well, then add about 2-3 tablespoons of unsweetened almond or coconut milk to your batter or as needed.

4.Feel free to season up with anything you like (salt, pepper, garlic powder, herbs, etc)

5. Cook according to your waffle iron directions.

6. Serve up however way you like. I topped with a poached egg and served up with half an avocado, blueberries and some pecans.

Only two years ago.... My man Dale!! •NO to counting macros..just plain ol’ food prep, consistency and a understanding of calories in verse calories burned.. •It’s like the tire folks!! Always has worked and always will... old school.👍🏼💪🏼

Lately, I have wanted to give up, and began seeing that old pattern of eating what I want drinking way too much and putting up all the excuses to not workout!
