~ Mental Space ~

Running has now turned into my therapy; it’s my smile ticket for the day, or just tames the dragon back into its cave so I can function

Being at home, constantly, is tough; but when you’re mentally ill, it’s exhausting

You feel trapped, not just physically, but mentally with your own thoughts and demons; and with no end date, you don’t have much to look forward too

I live for the little victories, the small steps that I can build on. One day it might be getting out of bed and dressed, the other day it might be eating well

When you feel you can face this, you know you can do more, you know you can achieve more

This run was my first all week; I’ve been a wreck, but being within those 4 walls, no one has recognised; and tbh, I didn’t realise how bad I actually am

This 10k was tough; I just ran and ran and ran until those demons in my head quietened down, even if it was only for alil while

Being able to go out and exercise is the one thing that’s keeping me sane during these weird times, and I can guarantee there’s many more who agree, mental health issues or not

If the government was to take this away because of some covididiots then more problems will arise. Mental health illness doesn’t have a pause button; we can’t just stop it while the world fights covid-19 🙄

So c’mon people, just bloody listen to what’s being asked of us! The quicker we all abide by the rules, the quicker we can get back our lives

SISSY SQUAT. The name does not do it justice. By the time I hit sets 3 & 4 my legs were shaking. This is a great way to work the lower body with zero equipment. I performed reps to fatigue, rested 30 seconds for 4 sets.
Coaching Cues:
✅Stand on balls of feet and stay that way the entire rep
✅Hold stable chair or wall
✅Lean back
✅Extend hips and keep them forward the entire rep
✅Bring knee forward as you lean back into a squat
✅Puff chest up to ceiling

Not my usual routine but I’m liking these HIIT workouts now and slowly introducing them Into my routine. I really had to dig deep with this workout as you can tell with the lunges😂, this was also the second round so I was starting to feel the pain🥵. There’s something about these workouts where you feel like a machine after you complete them but also feel like your gonna collapse. My stamina was my best trait before I started weight training and now I’m slowly getting that back with my runs and HIIT workouts🤘🏻.
