I've been suffering from a flare up of a chronic illness for the last few days, which has knocked me sideways! But rather than push through, and keep going, like the "old me" would have tried to do, I decided to cancel all of my calls, put my work aside, and even take 2 days off these "daily tips". Apart from speaking to friends and family, I went into hibernation mode. And I will keep taking it easy as long as my body needs it. It's so important because it means that I will become stronger, and recover more quickly and wholly and be able to bring my best self to the world.
Maybe you are feeling under the weather, or have your own health issues, or have anxiety, or feel low, or just feel utterly exhausted. All of these things are ok, and it's more than ok to take some time away from things that might add to your stress or exhaustion. That may mean cancelling your day, it may mean throwing away the kids' home schooling plan for a week, it may mean ordering takeaway rather than cooking, or turning off notifications on your phone.
You don't have to be "on top form" every day. You are human and you are going through something incredibly hard, and everyone has their own unique challenges. Give yourself permission to take some time off.
