"A change in the intensity of one’s training often comes about when preparing for a fight or maybe a grading or driving towards a personal goal. While this is natural, when intensity or the volume (hours) of training goes up, so must everything else. Therefore, your rest volume must increase alongside your nutrition. Failing to adjust these leaves your body starved of the rest it needs to rebuild muscle and the fuel to do this. Over a period, this imbalance will have a negative effect on your progress, and if not picked up, leaving you in a bad way."
