Have your knees ever given you grief or discomfort? Unfortunately, most of us would answer YES. If you would too, then you should join... In my case, for instance, that’s the main reason why I started practicing: my knees ached so bad someone recommended yoga so, I went to one class and the rest, as they say, is history. We’ll be working on stretching, strengthening, gaining mobility, as well as finding the most adequate poses & exercises to help us lessen the pain (or remove it altogether), while maintaining a healthy tonicity, flexibility and resilience. Knee pain can come from multiple sources: too weak, too stiff, muscles around it too tight or too loose, genetics, structural, overuse/underuse, bad habits, sports... Just because something works for one person, doesn’t mean it’ll work for everyone. I’ve tried to compile 28 poses where the knees play a big role and we can explore how to do them, or modify, so they can help us heal. It’s not about doing the asana, it’s about USING it to improve our well being. It’s important to clarify that I don’t claim to be a physician and you should seek professional opinion if needed ⚕. I can, however, share the knowledge distilled from my personal practice, as well as these 21 years teaching, seeing and assisting thousands of bodies, all with different shapes, abilities and background, coming to the mat. I hope it’ll enrich and throw some light into your #practice , while having a great time in the process (let’s not take the fun out!). .
