In dieser Woche geht es um dein Immunsystem. Gestern beim #MedicalMittwoch gab es eine Frage dazu, wie du deine Leber entgiften bzw. unterstützen kannst.

Deine Leber leistet einen wertvollen Beitrag zur Immunfunktion, indem Bakterien, abgestorbene oder sterbende Zellen und schädliche Fremdkörper im Blut abgebaut werden. Zuständig sind hierfür die Immunzellen der Leber, die sogenannten Fresszellen („Phagozyten“).
〰️
Für ein gesundes Immunsystem macht es also Sinn auch deine Leber zu stärken. Das kann man zunächst einmal mit einer allgemeinen Entgiftung machen. Dafür ist vor allem das Abführen mit nachfolgendem Kostaufbau geeignet. Im Ayurveda nimmt man sich dafür einen Tag in Ruhe Zeit. Abführen kannst du beispielsweise mit Rizinusöl.

Außerdem gibt es Kräuter, die lebertonisch wirken. Das bedeutet sie unterstützen die Leberfunktion und entlasten diese.
Hierzu zählen:
✨ Kreuzkümmel
✨ Kardamom
✨ Ingwer
✨ Gewürznelken u.v.m.

Du kannst die nachfolgende Kräutermischung 15 Tage lang täglich vor dem Schlafengehen einnehmen. Einfach 1/2 Teelöffel in warmem Wasser vermischen und trinken:
✨20g Ingwerpulver
✨10g langer Pfeffer
✨10g schwarzer Pfeffer
✨20g Kreuzkümmel
✨20g Gewürznelken
✨20g Kardamom

Working towards #Padmasana or Lotus Pose with @miss_sunitha . . .
There are lots of poses (as shown here) that can help in working towards lotus pose. But one of the main thing to take into consideration when working on these hip openers is subtle and deep awareness of the outer hip.
.
It’s very easy to end up with pain in the knee if these poses are not done with awareness of the outer hip rotation. Sometimes we end up focusing on pressing the knee out, which tends to be the cause for a lot of knee injuries in yoga.
.
Instead of focusing on the position of the knee, work instead on:
.
1️⃣ Rotation of outer hip
Think about rotating the outer hip out and down. Especially in seated poses (from pose 6 onwards) work on grounding the hip of the folded leg down and back, as if you’re trying to ground both hips down equally and moving the weight of the body back. As you do that, consciously rotate the outer hip (not knee!) out.
2️⃣ Core (aka mula bandha in yoga) awareness
Core still plays a role in hip openers, especially active hip openers. In every pose where you’re folding forward, lift the base of the pelvic foot to create space in order to subtly move the hips back a little bit more. This subtle core awareness can create more depth in your hip openers, especially in an active pose like lotus.

I would recommend staying in each pose for at least 5 breaths, and working with the breath to find more depth and ease in each pose. Every inhalation feel the subtle lift of energy upwards, and every exhalation find a little bit more depth while maintaining that upward energy.

Make sure to work both side equally!

A man from Michigan has spent $900 of his savings filling up fuel tanks for nurses on their way to a nearby hospital. He stands outside the petrol station with a sign, and when they come in he fills up and pays for their fuel. He’s even received donations from others in the area so that he can continue. He’s stated that he just wants to do his bit and show how much he appreciates nurses at this time

A family from Somerset used chalk to colour in every brick of their home, creating a ‘rainbow house.’ which has attracted the attention of pedestrians, drivers and even emergency workers. It took 6 hours in total, and they got a step ladder out to reach the top half of the house. 
A little boy from Australia was delighted to find a doughnut from his grandma in their postbox. He has been missing his grandma and hasn’t seen her in a while, so she came by to drop a treat off for him.
