Calm is a super power 🌙
My last post summarised how I feel and deal with my OCD during this public health crisis. In general aside from that, I am actually a really laid back, confident person. When I’ve told people close to me about my OCD, usually their first reply is “Huh? Really?” I’ve always felt and thought deeply so as annoying as my brain can be when it comes to certain thoughts, my brain is awesome when it comes to out of the box thinking, being creative, pondering the universe, thinking up design ideas, and just being super imaginative in general so I can’t completely fault my brain! I have also worked really hard and tirelessly to understand myself and how my mind works, and being able to invoke a feeling of calmness is pretty important when you’ve struggled with panic attacks before. Knock on wood, but it’s been about 11 years since my last panic attack btw!
Looking up at the stars, wandering along the ocean, taking a walk in the forest, deep mindful breaths, and coffee (yep, it actually makes me feel more chill) are a few things that invoke my calmness ✨
