My last post on this page was honouring beautiful Ajax who left our world for another realm.

Today I photographed another Ajax... our universe works in mysterious ways ๐Ÿ’ž

This Ajax had his @pawsforoz Farm Session this afternoon. He is an absolutely lovable boy who is adored by his Mum and Dad.

I'm so grateful to have raised $750 for Wildlife Victoria thanks to people like Ajax's Mum Mary who donated ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

You are all probably very familiar with this gorgeous face. He graces the home page of my website, he won me my first Silver Award in photography, but most importantly, he is the reason Ellie and Pep from Penny Marathon are my friends.
He is the reason we met early one chilly morning in Sydney Park. I was fascinated by this incredible looking dog, and as I knelt down to meet him, I looked up to his people. It was at that moment I met the incredible Eleftheria and Pep, the sisters who founded Penny Marathon and who live their lives selflessly for the betterment of all animals, but especially dogs and cats. Not just here in Sydney, but in Greece where their heritage began.

If you are new to my work, here's a little background on Ajax... Just after Ellie and Pep had finished a training session for the Greek marathon, the year they founded the Penny Marathon, they were on their way home when they discovered Ajax when he was walking deliriously in the middle of a busy road in Sydney.
It was clearly evident that he had escaped a very abusive situation. He was in terrible shape and was bleeding from the head, as someone had cut holes in his ears. He was also emaciated and riddled with fleas. He had acute anxiety for several years but went on to live a happy life with his family. According to Ellie, If there were a contest for the worldโ€™s best kisser, he could win every time.

Ajax transformed into a happy and well-adjusted dog, with a wicked sense of humour. He was a trilingual (dog, English and Greek) and adored his European sister Artemis and his younger brother Gus.

Sadly, and extremely suddenly, Ajax crossed the bridge on Thursday night in Ellie's arms after an aggressive cancer diagnosis. This insidious disease didn't rear its ugly head to warn of any signs until Thursday morning when he was chasing a magpie and fainted. I'd been through a very similar situation back in 1997 with my dog Bourbon, and when Ellie rang me on Thursday, it took me straight back to that horrible day.

Never take for granted what you have in life, as it could be gone in the blink of an eye. Cherish every moment with unconditional love f

Firstly, I'd like to thank everyone who donated to my @pawsforoz... it is because of you that I reached my target of $700 for Wildlife Victoria!

On the weekend I photographed two former Greyhound Rescue hounds which made my heart sing considering I used to volunteer my photography services to Greyhound Rescue and would never have dreamed to have two of their babes lining up in Wootton for portraits ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ’— A big thank you to their Mum and Dad Jenny and Steve for getting them involved in helping wildlife injured and displaced in the bushfires.

This here is the gorgeous and gentle Bobby, isn't he simply divine ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

Happy Tuesday Morning ๐Ÿ’—

After a crazy four days of storms and torrential rain, it's wonderful to see the sun shining this morning.

We received over 300mm in the last four days and were farm-bound for a day with the river overflowing at the bridge. Wootton Community Facebook group has countless video footage of the force of the water throughout the valley.

Yesterday we had a reprieve with almost a full day of sunshine before the storms rolled in again. The chickens and ducks got to free-range for a few hours while the dogs rested up inside. Then it was into the garden to prepare for upcoming photo sessions by pulling out weeds which are so much easier to pull when the ground is soaked.

My heart goes out to those who have been affected by the storms and flooding. Australia is a land of extremes and we've witnessed it more than ever these past few months. It can be hard to comprehend and at times, I catch myself thinking, did that really happen?

I took my first steps toward equine photography last week, and I'm looking forward to learning much more as I have always adored horses and plastered my bedroom walls with them as a kid.

Paws for Oz Fundraising Sessions - in Wootton, NSW!

I am so excited to announce that I've joined a group of international pet photographers to help raise funds for Wildlife Victoria after the devastating bushfires which have destroyed so many lives.

My friend Karen Black, the Canadian dog photographer behind Indigo Pet Photography came up with this fantastic initiative in response to her heartbreak and feeling of helplessness at watching all the horrific news stories about the fires.

I've spent the past 3 months on our farm constantly vigilant with the fires coming within 25km, but thankfully not reaching our beautiful valley. I'm so happy I have a way to give back to help Wildlife Victoria care for the survivors, and at the same time provide donators with a complimentary photo session of their dog.

To find out more, head on over to my website (link in bio). If you live too far away to take advantage of the complimentary photo session, please consider donating anyway to help us reach our target!

If you have friends living on the Mid North Coast of NSW, please share this with them too! ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

Thinking of all the animals who have been killed in the bushfires... not just the native animals, but also the thousands of farm animals who had no hope.

This is one of nine cows we have staying with us for a while as the drought has depleted their home of pasture.

Thankfully we received over 30% of last year's total rainfall late last week, 100mm of that in one hell of a storm last Thursday. Today was a 41 degree day with crazy winds. Mother Nature really is trying to shake the world up.

My sincere condolences to the families of all those who have lost their lives, including those we lost today in the air tanker crash... absolutely tragic ๐Ÿ’”

These are the three dogs I photographed just before Christmas for Sweet Pea Animal Hospital & Rescue. I don't have any info on them yet, but do know that they are all available to adopt so I will update soon when I have their adoption profiles. For now, just enjoy their gorgeous faces. Left to right is Cali, Bowie and Ruby ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ

I thought it's about time I shared a portrait of Dude showing his not-so-derpy side. His little pink tag says it all.

It's proving to be an absolute pleasure hosting this adorable boy in our home while his foster family take time out for a family holiday. He is loving his holiday and having loads of fun playing and exploring, and regular sleepy time in between all the daily activities.

Please share so we can find the boy the loving home he deserves... whoever adopts him will be very lucky to have such a balanced, lovely-natured dog in their family.

Here is his link on PetRescue if you think he may be the dog for you: https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/731413

Brothers from another mother ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿ’œ Location scouting on our farm is fun stuff with five dogs and just little old me! However, I am discovering some amazing locations for future sessions on the farm.

Despite the challenges which can be likened to herding cats, I managed to get a shot of Henry and Harvey together to show their size comparison. I'm not sure what Harvey might be muttering... what do you think? ๐Ÿ˜น

Derpy Dude is still having fun, don't you think?

Dude is staying with us for another 10 days so I'll be writing a blog on all his adventures here on the farm.

He's so adoptable and amazing, and incredibly loving and social ... I hope his little holiday here on the farm leads to him being adopted as he has so much love and fun to offer and he so deserves a forever home <3

We have a farm guest! This is Dude and he's staying with us for a couple of weeks while his foster family head off overseas for a holiday.

Dude is adoptable via Denise at Paws Inc. and he's settling in nicely, getting used to farm life. In due course, I'll take some adoption portraits to help him find his furever family, but for now, he likes to move it, move it! ๐Ÿ’œ
